The University of Louisville men’s soccer team ended a five-match winless streak in style, earning a 4-2 win over Lipscomb on Tuesday night at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium. The four goals were a season-high for the Cardinals, marking their best offensive performance since the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
Lipscomb struck first, taking a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute. However, Louisville quickly responded in the 31st minute, capitalizing on a set piece. After a foul near the sideline, Leon Kondic delivered a perfect free kick into the box, and Josh Jones headed it in for his third goal of the season.
The Bisons regained the lead in the 38th minute, but Louisville equalized right before halftime. Kondic once again played a key role, sending in a corner kick that Chase Vazquez flicked on to Parker Forbes, who headed it home for his first goal of the year. Kondic became the first Cardinal to register multiple assists in a game this season.
In the second half, Louisville took control. Michael Lee scored his first collegiate goal in the 63rd minute off a centering pass from Elijah Brijbasi. Then, in the 83rd minute, Vazquez sealed the win by converting a pass from Ethan Subachan, securing the Cardinals’ 4-2 victory.
Louisville finished with 17 shots, their highest total in six matches, as they prepare to return to conference play.
